McConnon is wanted in connection with several reports of thefts from motor vehicles

The team are focussing on crime prevention for bicycle theft and Burglaries in the area.

Bike Marking Extravaganzas continue into the Summer months, to encourage the Community to protect their bikes, so we can identify them if taken. Burglaries, especially theft of Bicycles from Garages has seen a significant increase over the last month and PCSOs continue to carry out local reassurance patrols, carry out House to House enquiries for any evidence opportunities. Community Alerts are being sent out to warn the community when these crimes occur. We recommend that the Community Signs up to the Community Alert Scheme, to be up to date of what is happening in their area. Work behind the scenes continues to deter and solve Acquisitive crime in the area

The Team are focussing on providing reassurance and support for those that are vulnerable living in the area. This ranges from dealing with referrals for safeguarding, from ACTION FRAUD ref: online Fraud scammer and also Telephone Scammers to Mental Health and Elderly Members of the Public , particularly those with Dementia, that need Police assistance.

The Local Officers continue to work closely with the Cheltenham Vulnerability Officers and Fraud Department, to carry out safeguarding visits. The Team has Liaison with local GP’s, social care and works with family members to protect those that are the most vulnerable within our Community. Keeping data up to date on those vulnerable living within the area, can assist if concern is raised for these individuals, i.e. they have not been seen for some time, or their mental health is showing signs of decline.

Cheltenham has seen an increase in Theft from Motor Vehicles, mainly from Vehicles that have been left unlocked and with valuables left in them and on display

The Team are checking daily incidents reported of Theft From Motor Vehicle and where possible carrying out House to House in the area, to gain any intel or CCTV, Ring Doorbell footage. Community Alerts and Facebook advice has been sent out to the Public to remind them to lock their vehicles and to remove items . Work is ongoing
