    · CREATING SAFE SPACES IN PARTIUCLAR FOR WOMEN AND GIRLS

    Operation Ash provides high visibility patrols in areas with over 300hrs conducted in March. Local Authority have reviewed feedback from the Safer Spaces Survey. Gloucester Park has been highlighted as an area where people don’t feel safe. Neighbourhood officers will continue to patrol as part of Op Ash and Night Angels (predominately support women and girls) will also patrol when they are out at weekends. Police/Local Authority are making space for an office so personnel can work and be visible/point of contact should the public wish to raise any concerns.

    Op Comet took place in March. This is a proactive policing operation by Police officers (both high visibility/plain clothes) paying particular attention to tackling ASB in our night time economy, Drugs, Violence against women and girls & knife crime working in partnership with licenced premises, night safe officers, night angels, city safe etc; the outcome of this operation was;

    2 persons were arrested. One for Possession with intent to supply Cannabis one for Drink Driving.
    Numerous  of wraps of Cannabis were seized totalling over 60 grams.
    17 grams of Class A drugs were seized
    5 Nitrous Oxide Canisters were seized.
    One vehicle was seized for being used in crime.
    Three community resolutions were handed out for possession of Cannabis.
    A driver was fined for using a mobile phone.
    12 vehicles were stopped.
    Three vehicles were searched
    14 People were stopped and searched.
    Foot patrols were carried and officers who engaged with the public in the city centre.

    · TACKLING ANTI SOCIAL BEHAVIOUR (ASB)

    Operation Ash remains throughout the City with hot spot locations being patrolled daily thanks to home office funding specifically to tackle ASB. Multi Agency Problem Solving meetings occur weekly where repeat perpetrators are discussed and signposted accordingly. There have been over 300hrs worth of patrols conducted in hot spot areas in the month of March. SOLACE have 28 live injunctions for persons persistent on causing ASB in the city.

    PD (Police Dog) Ollie and PC Shields remains committed to providing high visibility patrols throughout Gloucester combatting ASB.

    Please see above reference Op Comet.

    A closure order was placed on a retail premise on Barton Street due to persistently being linked to ASB.
