Local councils, who form a partnership with Gloucestershire County Council and Gloucestershire Constabulary, own community Speed Cameras. The cameras are located at pre-agreed positions where it would be possible for the Constabulary to carry out mobile camera enforcement activity.
The communities pass data to the Constabulary about vehicles who are recorded exceeding the speed limits. From this data, the Constabulary generates advisory letters with the aim of providing driver education and reducing collisions on our roads. The first letter advises the vehicle owner of the speed recorded. The second letter advises that they have been recorded again, and the Constabulary may take that further action.
The below information shows the communities with an active camera in the month shown, the number of letters sent for each community, and the total number of letters sent for each community in 2024.
Parish/Community | First letter | Second letter | Further action | Letters sent to GL postcode | Total letters this month | Total letters sent this year |
