The Role Players are members of the public from all walks of life and all ages (over 18) that are needed every month or so to assist trainee Police Officers, trainee PCSO’s and trainee Special Constables with experiencing life like scenarios to prepare them for life out on the streets.
You will be given scenarios from the trainers and assessors who will be ever present. You will then need act your role in that scenario to see how the trainees handle it.
These sessions occur once every couple of months for trainee Police Officers and PCSO’s and take place during the week. For trainee Special Constables the sessions also occur every couple of months but normally over a Saturday and Sunday.
The sessions are held at our training facility, the Sabrina Centre, located on the outskirts of Berkeley and sometimes in Gloucester. For this role, your own transport is essential but as part of being a volunteer you are able to claim mileage for travel.
As with all roles in the police, this volunteer position will require you to be vetted to a suitable level.
