Volunteer Fleetcare Driver

Do you enjoy driving? Can you volunteer a whole day at a time?

Do you have a Clean Driving License? Like working as part of a small successful team doing something really worthwhile?

If the answer is yes to above then we would like to hear from you.

Role responsibilities

The Fleetcare drivers have a wide variety of roles but the main one is being able to drive marked police vehicles (with out of use signs) to and from vehicle workshops. These could be picked up and dropped off from any police station in the county.

This is a very important voluntary role in the Constabulary as this allows Police Officers and PCSOs to remain available for patrol duties instead of being tied up driving vehicles to our Workshops.

There are other driving tasks at time including taking items out of county and driving for various projects within the Constabulary.

Training

You will be vetted and assessed by the Constabulary's Driver Training Unit as you will be representing the Constabulary driving marked vehicles and high standards will need to be maintained.

A full induction will be provided and you will be assigned a “buddy” until you are confident in what you are doing.
