Crime Prevention Engagement Volunteer

Do you have an interest in Crime Prevention?

Are you able to drive one of our engagement vehicles (mobile police stations) to meet up with local officers at various sites around the County?

If the answer is yes then we want to hear from you.

Role Responsibilities

We are looking for a team of volunteers to assist in looking after the engagement vehicles, making sure that they are stocked up with relevant leaflets and kept in the manner you would expect of a mobile police station.

Alongside other volunteers in the team, you will prepare the vehicle and then drive it to meet up with our Neighbourhood Policing Teams (NPT Teams) around the county.

There with help, you will set up the vehicle at various locations across the county and be on hand to discuss crime prevention matters alongside the NPT Team. After a few hours, you’ll pack the vehicle away with the NPT team and then drive the vehicle back to Police HQ. Leaving it refuelled and re-stocked ready to go to the next deployment.

Crime Prevention training will be provided so you can give advice to other members of the public whilst on site with the NPT teams.

You will need to undergo a driving assessment, and you will also receive training on how to set up the vehicles.
