A man suffered a serious assault in the Forest of Dean on the evening of Saturday 14 May and investigating officers are appealing for information.
Police were called to the High Street in Cinderford with reports that a man had sustained serious injuries following an attack.
The victim reports that between 7.57pm and 8pm a white panel van with the registration VE68 BWJ stopped near him before two unknown men exited the vehicle and punched and struck him multiple times.
The victim required medical attention and is now in a stable condition.
No arrests have been made at this time and investigating officers are keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who may have any dashcam or CCTV footage which could assist the ongoing investigation.
