Witness appeal after car was stolen from address in Berkeley

A car was stolen from an address in Berkeley earlier this week and officers are appealing for witnesses.

Police received a report that a grey coloured Nissan Qashqai had been stolen from outside a property in the Berrycroft area and that vehicles doors had been tampered with.

This took place between 10:30am on Tuesday (1 September) and 5.40am on Wednesday (2 September).

Local residents have also reported that a man and woman were acting suspiciously in the area and may have been trying car door handles and stealing items from vehicles.

Investigating officers are now asking local residents, to please come forward if they've seen the car, between the hours provided, and witnessed what happened or have seen any suspicious activity in the area that day.

Additionally, they would like to hear from anyone who has CCTV or dashcam footage which they feel may be relevant.

Criminals are quick to exploit any opportunity they are presented with, such as taking advantage of unlocked vehicles, and officers are urging owners to remove valuable items when leaving vehicles overnight as well as parking in well-lit areas where possible.
