Officers are appealing for witnesses and footage after an unknown man followed a woman in Gloucester last week.
Police were called with a report that a man followed a lone woman along Cox's Way and Lobleys Drive heading in the direction of Abbeymead.
He then stopped traffic to cross the road and follow her.
The man then asked members of the public to stop the woman for him before throwing a large branch at her.
The victim, aged in her 20s, was able to seek help from a nearby motorist and reported that she was not injured but shaken by what happened.
This took place at around 4.40pm last Monday afternoon (7 September) and the man was described as being white, aged in his 30s, was of a slim build and wearing a grey hoodie.
Officers have conducted house-to-house and CCTV enquiries since the incident and are now appealing for witnesses to come forward.
Anyone with information, photos, CCTV or dashcam footage which could help with the investigation is asked to make contact with police.
In particular, officers would like to speak to a motorist who stopped their car and spoke to the unknown man as this person may be able to help identify him.
