Second arrest made after dogs attack woman near Newent last month

A second person has been arrested in connection with an incident near Newent, Forest of Dean last month after two dogs attacked a woman.
Investigating officers are still appealing for anyone with any other information about the dogs involved to come forward.
The incident happened shortly before 3pm on Saturday 29 August and left the victim with significant injuries to her arm, as well as other bite wounds on her body.
She had been delivering a parcel to a property in Malswick when two Cane Corsos attacked her. It is understood that the owner was not home at the time.
A man was arrested on suspicion of having dogs dangerously out of control and has since been released on police bail while an investigation continues.
Following an investigation by the Constabulary's Criminal Investigation Department, a woman has also been arrested on suspicion of the same offence in connection with the incident.
She has since been released on police bail while further enquiries take place.
On the day of the incident the victim, aged in her 30s, managed to call police and was able to get inside her vehicle for safety while she waited for help to arrive.
Officers attended and a police dog handler secured the dogs behind the gates. The owner was then contacted and both dogs were seized.
The woman was taken to Southmead Hospital in Bristol by paramedics with serious injuries.
The local area is understood to be popular with dog walkers and investigating officers are still keen to hear from anyone who witnessed this incident, or from anyone who has any information relating to any previous incidents involving the two dogs.
Under Section 3 of the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991, it is an offence to have a dog dangerously out of control in any place, including all private property.
