Road closure following serious collision near Bourton-on-the-Water

A road closure has been put into place near Bourton-on-the-Water following a serious collision this morning (Monday 28 September).

Police were called to the A436 Stanborough Lane at around 3.20am with a report of a single vehicle collision involving a motorcyclist.

The motorcyclist, a man aged in his 40s and from Andoversford, has been taken to John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford with serious injuries. His next of kin has been made aware.

Emergency services remain at the scene with closures on the A436 expected to be in place for several hours.

Motorists are reminded to avoid the area and find alternative routes which are suitable for the size of their vehicle.

Road closures have been put into place by Highways and a diversion route has been put into place along the A429.

Anyone who witnessed the collision but hasn't yet spoken to police or who has dashcam footage which may be relevant is asked to make contact.
