An arrest has been made following a stabbing in Stroud this evening (Saturday 12 September) and police are appealing for witnesses.
Emergency services were called to Slad Road at around 7.25pm with a report that a teenage boy had stabbed another teenage boy whilst at a nearby park.
The victim, a 15-year-old boy, has been taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital for treatment to injuries that are not deemed to be serious.
Officers conducted searches in the area and an 18-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning grievous bodily harm in connection with the incident. He remains in police custody at this time.
Police would like to reassure the public that those involved in the incident are known to each other and this appears to have been an isolated incident.
Investigating officers are asking anyone who witnessed what happened or has dashcam or CCTV footage to make contact.
