Appeal for witnesses to attempted robbery in Coney Hill Park in Gloucester

Police are appealing for witnesses to an attempted robbery which took place in a Gloucester park on Saturday (12 September).

At around 5.15pm, a group of six teenage boys approached a 16-year-old girl in Coney Hill Park on Metz Way and attempted to take her phone.

It was reported that during this, one of the boys used what was believed to be a stun gun to discharge an electrical shock to her leg. 

They did not manage to take the girl’s phone and left the park in the direction of Metz Way. Five of them were on electric bikes and one was on foot. 

The girl was not seriously injured during the incident but was extremely shaken by what had happened.

Four of the males were described as being white and two of them were described as being black and all aged between 14 and 15. They were all wearing black clothing and balaclavas. 

Officers conducted searches in the area but were unable to locate the group.

They are now asking for anyone who was in the area at the time and saw a group of boys matching this description, or saw what happened, to make contact with police.

Anyone in the Metz Way area who may have doorbell or CCTV footage of the boys is also asked to get in touch.

No arrests have been made at this stage.
