A child is in hospital after a collision in Cam last night, Saturday 3 October, and police are appealing for witnesses.
At 10.50pm police were called by the ambulance service with a report of a collision on Dursley Road, Woodfield which involved a red Vauxhall Corsa and a boy riding a pedal cycle.
A 13-year-old boy, who had been riding the bike, sustained serious injuries and was taken to Bristol Children's Hospital by paramedics. He remains there today (Sunday) for treatment.
Officers attended the scene last night and the road was closed to allow for a collision investigation to take place.
The road was reopened this morning.
The driver of the car, a man aged in his 50s, did not sustain any physical injuries.
Anyone who witnessed the collision or who has dashcam or CCTV footage which could assist the investigation, is asked to contact police.
