Man pleads guilty to causing the death of pedestrian last year

A man has pleaded guilty to causing the death of a pedestrian in Gloucester last year.
Bruce Drake, aged 79 and of St Aldwyn Road in Gloucester, appeared at Cheltenham Magistrates' Court earlier today (Thursday 15 October) and pleaded guilty to causing death by careless/inconsiderate driving.
The plea relates to a collision between a car and pedestrian on Barton Street in Gloucester on 14 January 2025 in which 35-year-old Kieran Jones from Gloucester was taken to hospital and later died from his injuries.
Drake was released on unconditional bail and handed an interim driving disqualification ahead of being sentenced at the same court on Wednesday 2 December.
