Police have released an image of a man they would like to speak to in connection with an incident which happened on a bus and left another man with serious injuries.
It has been reported that a man twice entered a stationary bus at Gloucester Transport Hub and asked to travel to Cheltenham when he did not have money for the fare.
On both occasions, which happened on Sunday 30 August, the bus driver asked the man to leave the bus.
It is understood that as she attempted to get the man to disembark for the second time, a male passenger who was already on the bus, approached the pair in the stairwell and exchanged words with the man.
During this exchange, the man who had already been on the bus, who is aged in his 70s, fell down the steps and out of the bus.
Officers are investigating the circumstances of the man’s fall, which resulted in him being taken to hospital with fractures to his ribs and pelvis.
Police attended the scene, but the man pictured left on foot, and he was not located following a search of the area.
Officers have completed multiples enquiries since the incident, and they are now asking the man to contact police and give his account of what happened.
The investigating officer would also like to hear from other passengers who were on the bus at the time of the incident and who may have witnessed what happened or recorded the incident.
