A man has been arrested in connection with an incident in Cheltenham earlier today (Tuesday 26 May) after it was reported a man had been secretly filming women.
Police received a report shortly after 10.30am that a man had been witnessed using a small camera to film a woman.
It was reported that the man had committed the offence of upskirting, which involves the taking of a picture under a person’s clothing without them knowing.
Officers have arrested a man in his 50s from Gloucester on suspicion of voyeurism. He currently remains in police custody while enquiries are continuing.
Incidents such as this often go under-reported and investigation officers are keen to hear from anyone who may have information that could assist.
They are asking anyone who may have witnessed these incidents or who have experienced similar ones themselves, to contact police.
Officers are putting on additional patrols in the town centre and anybody with concerns is encouraged to speak to them.
