A woman has been arrested following a number of assaults in Cheltenham town centre yesterday (Monday 1 June) and officers are appealing for any additional victims to come forward.
Police were called with a report that an unknown woman had assaulted multiple members of the public between 1pm and 4pm.
Officers attended and following enquiries it was established that the woman had walked down High Street and grabbed a woman and her young child outside Poundland at around 1.10pm.
She then then proceeded to walk down the High Street and pushed over an elderly woman outside McDonald's. She is also believed to have kicked a man and taken someone's glasses before walking towards Marks and Spencer.
The woman then continued walking and punched a man in the face twice at the junction of Bath Road and Cedar Court Road.
A woman aged in her 30s and from Winchcombe was arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm in connection with the incident. She remains in police custody at this time.
Several of the victims were identified, however investigating officers would like to speak to three people whose identities remain unknown: a jogger who was pushed over; a man who was kicked; and a person who potentially had their glasses taken.
Officers would also like to speak to anyone else who was targeted by the woman to come forward, so that their welfare can be checked and the investigation can progress.
