Man charged with murder of Gloucester man

Police have charged a man with the murder of an 80-year-old man in Gloucester on Thursday night (2 July).
Lawrence Robert Whayman, aged 55 and of Alney Terrace, Gloucester, will appear at Cheltenham Magistrates' Court later this morning (Saturday 4 July).
The charge relates to an incident that took place on Thursday night, when emergency services were called to a report of a man being injured at a property on Alney Terrace at around 9pm.
A police presence will remain at the scene throughout the weekend while enquiries continue to take place.
