Police are appealing for information to ascertain how a man sustained serious injuries in Gloucester city centre.
Officers are investigating after being called to a report that a man in his 40s was unconscious on Eastgate Street last month (January).
The man had sustained a number of injuries, including a bleed on the brain, a fractured skull and a fractured jaw. He was taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital for treatment.
The injuries are consistent with a possible assault; however, the victim has been unable to remember what happened to him and officers are now appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
They have reviewed CCTV in the town centre and spoken to a number of people, but are now hoping others may come forward who have not already spoken to police.
The incident is believed to have happened between The Cross and Primark at around 3.30am on Thursday 22 January.
Anybody with information is asked to contact Gloucestershire Police through the website, or by calling 101, and quoting incident 31 of 22 January: https://www.gloucestershire.police.uk/contact/af/contact-us/us/a-crime-that-has-already-been-reported/
