Man charged following police pursuit on the M5

A man has been charged in connection with a pursuit which took place on the M5 yesterday (Thursday 27 August).

Officers attempted to stop the driver of a car as they were witnessed to be speeding and driving dangerously.

A man was detained following a pursuit which took place between junctions 11 and Gloucester Services on the southbound carriageway.

Callum McLuckie, aged 41 and of Pailton Road in Solihull, has since been charged with the following offences:

• Dangerous driving
• Failing to stop a vehicle when required to do so by a police officer
• Driving a motor vehicle when above the legal alcohol limit
• Aggravated vehicle taking

He has been released on bail and is due to appear at Cheltenham Magistrates' Court on Tuesday 13 October.

Investigating officers are now asking anyone who was travelling between junctions 11 and Gloucester Services on the southbound carriageway of the motorway at around 12.45pm yesterday and has dashcam footage to make contact.
