A man has been arrested in connection with a serious collision on the A46 Painswick Road near Brockworth yesterday (Monday 13 April).
Police received a report of a two-vehicle collision at around 4.40pm which involved a white Fiat Doblo Cargo and a yellow Vauxhall Corsa.
Emergency services attended and the driver of the Corsa, a woman aged in her 20s, sustained serious injuries and was taken to Southmead Hospital in Bristol. She remains there today with injuries which at this time are not believed to be life-threatening.
The driver of the Fiat van was arrested on suspicion of driving while under the influence of alcohol and causing serious injury by dangerous driving. He was taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital where his injuries were assessed before being released from hospital and taken into police custody. He has now been released under investigation while officers continue their enquiries.
Investigating officers would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision or who has dashcam footage and has not already spoken to police.

Road closures had been put in place and these were lifted in the early hours of this morning (Tuesday) and the vehicles involved were recovered.
