Police are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage following a fatal collision near Maisemore yesterday afternoon (Thursday 16 April).
Emergency services were called at around 3.50pm with a report of a collision involving a motorbike and a Ford Transit van on the A417 near Overton Farm.
The motorcyclist, a man from Gloucester, sustained serious injuries and despite the best efforts of members of the public and paramedics, he was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
His next of kin has been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.
The driver of the van was assessed by paramedics and did not sustain any serious injuries.
Road closures which were put into place while a collision investigation took place have since been lifted.
