Police are appealing for a group of young girls in Gloucester to come forward following reports they were approached by a man in a shop last week.
The incident happened around 3pm on Friday 7 August in B&M stores in the city centre, when the man is reported to have approached the girls and asked for their telephone numbers. The man was asked to leave by staff at the store.
He was then reported making inappropriate comments to a teenage girl in TK Maxx at around 4.45pm.
Officers would like to speak to the girls who were spoken to by the man in B&M. They are also appealing for anyone else with information to come forward.
Anyone with information should contact Gloucestershire Constabulary on 101, quoting incident 325 of 7 August.
A 47-year-old man from Gloucester has been arrested on suspicion of engaging in sexual communication with a child and released on bail.
