Two people were arrested after police were called with reports of an assault in Tewkesbury on Friday.
Police were called to Oak Drive shortly after midnight after it was reported that a teenager had been hit over the head with a hammer by two people.
A 34-year-old man and 34-year-old woman, both from Tewkesbury, were arrested on suspicion of assault causing grievous bodily harm and have since been released under investigation.
The victim was taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital with a head wound and has since been discharged.
Anyone who witnessed the incident and hasn’t already spoken to police is asked to call 101 quoting incident 7 of 17 April.
