Police are appealing for information after thieves attacked a car following a burglary from a house in Kingswood, near Wotton-under-Edge over the weekend.
It follows a report that two electric bikes had been stolen from a shed at the property in the early hours of Saturday morning (11 November).
The owners of the house were woken to the sound of the break-in at around 3.30am and witnessed two electric bicycles being stolen.
The thieves made off in a white Volkswagen van and one of the people in the property gave chase in their own car.
Between Kingswood and Wickwar, the white van stopped, blocking the vehicle behind. A man in a balaclava got out of the van and used a heavy object to damage the back of the car and smash one of the headlights. The van then rammed the car before driving off.
Officers would now like to speak to anybody with information about the burglary. Anyone who witnessed anything suspicious or who has relevant CCTV or dashcam footage is asked to come forward.
