Police have warned revellers to stay away after reports an illegal rave could be taking place in the Forest of Dean this weekend.
Officers have been working with partner agencies to secure a disused railway tunnel near Soudley, after it was discovered that a metal door blocking access had been cut off.
Extra patrols will also be taking place in the area throughout the weekend and roads to the spot will be closed if necessary.
Residents living close to the site are being asked to report any suspicious activity immediately on 999, quoting incident 151 of 4 August.
Inspector Nick Cook, of the Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “These events, which are run illegally, have a massive impact on the local communities, showing complete contempt for local residents and tourists in an area of such outstanding beauty.
“Our aim is to disrupt any attempts to hold a rave in this area and we would like to thank the local community for their continued support and patience.”
