Yesterday evening, Friday 4 December, emergency services responded to an incident on the A40 where a vehicle collided with a wall.
It happened around 11pm on the A40 near to Whittington, Gloucestershire heading towards Andoversford and emergency services attended.
The single occupant driver of the car, a man, was taken to Southmead hospital by ambulance with serious injuries.
The road was closed for several hours while officers carried out an investigation and is now open again.
Any witnesses or drivers with dashcam footage of a white Mitsubushi in the area at the time, who have not yet spoken to officers are asked to call Gloucestershire Constabulary on 101 quoting incident 517 of 4 December.
