Police are appealing for information following a non-stop collision in Buckover involving a 24-year-old man.
The incident happened on the A38 Thornbury Road between 11pm on 11 July and 3am on 12 July, when the man was heading home.
It is believed that the victim was hit by an unknown vehicle from behind, knocking him unconscious. He was taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital, before being moved to Southmead Hospital, where he was found to have a broken ankle in three places, broken ribs, five breaks in his shoulder and issues with his lungs, as well as a number of cuts and bruises.
Owing to the nature of the incident, the victim does not remember any details such as the exact time or the make and model of the vehicle. He is now at home recovering from the incident.
Officers would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed any suspicious vehicles at the time of the incident, particularly any vehicles with signs of damage that could be caused by a hit and run such as a smashed windscreen.
