Officers from the Rural Crime Team are investigating following reports of hare coursing near Tewkesbury earlier this month.
Police attended a field off Dibden Lane in Alderton on the morning of Sunday 5 December after a farmer reported finding dead hares on his land and seeing a vehicle acting suspiciously.
It is believed that a group of men had been hunting in the field at around 10.30pm on Saturday 4 December before setting their vehicle on fire at around 3am the following morning.
Enquiries are ongoing to identify the men who were involved as well as establishing the owner of the burnt out car.
Anyone with information or CCTV/dashcam footage they feel may be relevant is asked to please get in contact.
