Two men have been arrested in connection with a four-vehicle collision on A38 Eastern Avenue in Gloucester last night, Thursday 27 July.
Police were called around 8.30pm with a report of a serious collision near to McDonald's and emergency services attended.
The incident involved a black Audi A5, BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe, Ford Fiesta Zetec and an Audi A6.
Investigating officers are appealing for dashcam footage of the vehicles involved prior to the collision.
Police are also keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident and has not already spoken to officers.
One of the drivers was taken to hospital after sustaining minor injuries.
A dog had also bolted from one of the cars involved and was soon found nearby. The dog is safe and well.
A 23-year-old man from Gloucester was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, driving without insurance, racing on a public highway and driving while under the influence of alcohol and drugs.
A 27-year-old man from Gloucester was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, racing on a public highway and driving while under the influence of alcohol and drugs. He was further arrested on suspicion of assaulting a police officer after it was alleged he punched and spat at an officer.
They both remain in police custody this morning, Friday 28 July.
The road was closed while emergency services were at the scene and it reopened overnight.
