Officers are appealing for witnesses to an assault which took place in Stroud yesterday afternoon (Thursday).
The incident occurred in an alleyway off Golden Jubilee Road shortly after 3.05pm. The male victim was assaulted before having his phone stolen.
It was reported that the victim was walking along the alleyway when he was approached by three men who stopped him and asked a question, the victim said that he couldn't help and carried on walking.
One of the men threatened the victim before the group started punching and hitting him in the face/head area.
The victim sustained a bruised and swollen cheekbone as well as cuts to the inside of his mouth as a result of the assault.
The offenders, who were all was clean shaven and had Irish accents were described as follows:
Male 1: a white male aged between 25 and 28 who was of an athletic build. He was wearing a blue beanie hat, grey hoody with the hood pulled up and black jeans.
Male 2: a white male aged between 25 and 28 who was also of an athletic build and had short black hair. He was wearing a black quilted jacket, black jeans and black trainers
Male 3: a white male aged between, aged between 25 and 28 who was of an athletic build and had short brown hair. He was wearing a tweed jacket and blue jeans.
The men are understood to left the area towards the canal path.
Investigating officers are asking anyone who has information or witnessed this taking place to call 101 quoting incident 291 of 5 March.
