A man has been arrested following a high-speed pursuit through the Forest of Dean in the early hours of the morning (Tuesday 18 October).
Following information received, officers had stopped a man who was driving in Highnam for motoring offences, before he made off in the car. Armed police gave chase for 20 miles before he stopped the vehicle near Lydney.
The man abandoned the car and attempted to escape on foot before being found by police and arrested.
A 36-year-old man from Gloucester was arrested on suspicion of drug driving, driving whilst disqualified, taking a vehicle without consent and dangerous driving. He remains in police custody.
