Police are appealing for a woman to come forward after a boy was bitten by her dog in Gloucester.
It was reported that a grey Whippet dog had bitten a 12-year-old boy on the foot causing minor injuries.
This took place on the canal path near to Darleydale Close in Quedgeley at around 12.30pm last Thursday (18 June).
The boy stated that he was riding a scooter in the area when the dog approached, leapt up and bit him on the shoe.
The owner of the dog, described as being a white woman, put a leash on her dog and pulled it back but did not check on the welfare of the boy.
Officers have conducted enquiries to identify the woman and are now asking her to make contact so he can give an account of what happened.
They would also like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and has information which they feel is relevant.
