Police are appealing for information after a group of men assaulted another man in Gloucester last month.
It was reported that the group of five or six men had approached the victim on Parliament Street at around midnight on Sunday 21 December.
One of them asked him for a cigarette and lighter, before assaulting him. He was left with a broken jaw that required surgery.
Police are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or who knows the men involved.
Officers are awaiting further information and therefore no description of the group can be provided at this time.
