A man has been arrested in Gloucester on suspicion of drug supply offences following warrants at five properties yesterday (Wednesday 11 February).
Gloucestershire Constabulary’s Serious Organised Crime Unit conducted searches at three residential addresses and two storage units in Barnwood, Tredworth and the city centre.
Officers seized £100,000 in cash, around 1.5kg of class A controlled drugs and a number of weapons, including crossbows, imitation firearms and two machetes.
They were supported by officers from the Neighbourhood Support Team, the Drone Unit and Neighbourhood Policing Team.
A 37-year-old man from Gloucester was arrested on suspicion of drug supply offences.
He remains in police custody at this time and enquiries are continuing.
Detective Sergeant Sam Martin said: “Taking these drugs and weapons off the streets of Gloucestershire should reassure the community that we endeavour to do everything we can to keep people safe.
“To recover a significant amount of illicit assets is a real blow to those who profit from others’ misery.
“The result of this operation shows that this sort of crime will not be tolerated in Gloucestershire.“
