A police officer has been dismissed without notice following a gross misconduct hearing.
A hearing took place at Police Headquarters this week for PC Samuel Jameson following an investigation by our Professional Standards Department into his behaviour towards female colleagues and members of the public.
During the hearing a panel chaired by Julia Debenham, former Deputy Chief Constable of Lincolnshire Police, was told PC Jameson told a student officer in their first meeting that she ought to finish her relationship with her partner as they might sleep together.
The panel also heard he asked the same tutee which tutor she would like to sleep with most.
And in addition to demonstrating sexually inappropriate behaviours towards colleagues, PC Jameson was also said to have made sexualised and derogatory comments about female members of the public to colleagues while on duty.
The final allegation made against PC Jameson was that he had made derogatory comments about other female colleagues, calling them overconfident and suggesting they were arrogant.
PC Jameson was suspended from duty when concerns about his behaviour were first raised in April 2023, and our PSD began an investigation which ultimately led to a gross misconduct hearing
After hearing all the evidence, the panel today (Wednesday 29 April) concluded PC Jameson’s actions and behaviours amounted to a breach of the standards of professional behaviour relating to Authority, Respect and Courtesy; Equality and Diversity and Discreditable Conduct.
He was subsequently dismissed without notice and had his name added to the Police Barred List.
Deputy Chief Constable Katy Barrow-Grint said: "There is no place at Gloucestershire Constabulary for men like PC Jameson who abuse their position to take advantage of less experienced female officers and are derogatory to colleagues and members of the public.
"I am pleased the panel has concluded his predatory and misogynistic behaviour warranted dismissal."
