Police are appealing for information to identify a driver who failed to stop for Roads Policing officers in the Forest of Dean last week.
On Thursday 16 October, officers were alerted to a blue Volkwagen Scirocco which was being driven on the A48 in Alvington at around 12.20pm and was suspected to be linked to drug dealing.
Officers also had intelligence to suggest that the driver of the vehicle did not hold a valid driving licence.
Despite officers' attempts to pull the male driver over, he continued driving and a pursuit ensued, during which the driver collided with four other vehicles causing damage to the cars’ bodywork and wing mirrors. No-one was injured.
The driver then crashed a short time later in Sedbury and fled from the scene on foot.
Officers searched for the male with support from the National Police Air Service (NPAS), the Dog Unit and Gwent Police, however he was not located.
The abandoned car was searched and a quantity of Class B drugs were discovered inside along with scales and drug paraphernalia, which were subsequently seized.
The vehicle was also seized for forensic examination.
Enquiries are continuing and officers are now asking anyone who witnessed the driver of the VW Scirocco, or who has information on his whereabouts, to contact police.
Anyone with any mobile phone or dashcam footage which they feel is relevant is also asked to get in touch.
