Police are appealing for witnesses after a report that a man assaulted a woman in Gloucester last week.
It was reported that members of the public had seen a man shout at a woman and demand she got into a car before forcing her inside and driving away. It was also reported that he had punched her in the face several times.
This had taken place on Russell Street at around 10.30pm on Thursday 6 November.
Following enquiries, officers identified the woman and attended her address to conduct a welfare check. She was found to have sustained facial injuries.
A 63-year-old man from Gloucester was subsequently arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and later released on bail with conditions not to contact the woman.
Enquiries are continuing and investigating officers are asking anyone who was in the area at the time and saw what happened to make contact.
They are also keen to hear from anyone who has dashcam or CCTV footage they feel is relevant.
