Four people have been arrested in connection with a suspected stabbing in Gloucester yesterday evening (15 May).
The incident happened on Westgate Street near Westgate Island at around 5pm.
It was reported that the victim was sat in his car, which was stationary at traffic lights, when a Red Kia pulled up by the side of him.
The occupants shouted at the victim before a male got out of the Kia, ran over to his car and lunged at him with a knife through the open car window.
A second male then entered the victim's car through the passenger door and punched him multiple times in the face.
They then returned to their own vehicle, which was being driven by a woman, and fled from the scene.
The victim, a man aged in his 20s, was able to drive to a nearby garage where officers administered first aid whilst waiting for paramedics to attend.
He was taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital for treatment to a large laceration on his leg, a cut to his chest and injuries to his face. He was discharged later that evening.
Following the incident, control room staff and CCTV operatives quickly tracked and located the suspect's vehicle to a street in Gloucester city centre.
Further enquiries revealed the identity of the suspects and four people were subsequently located and detained at a nearby address by armed response officers.
A search of the property was carried out and a quantity of Class A drugs and drug paraphernalia including scales, phones and zip lock bags were found.
A man and woman in their 20s and two teenage boys, all from Gloucester, were subsequently arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm and possession of Class A drugs with intent to supply. They remain in police custody while enquiries continue.
Another man in his 20s and from Gloucester was also arrested on suspicion of possession of Class B drugs with intent to supply and remains in police custody.
Investigating officers are urging anyone who witnessed the incident and has not yet spoken to police to get in touch. They are also keen to hear from anyone who may have CCTV or dashcam footage which shows the occupants of the Kia in the area either before or after the incident.
