A man has pleaded guilty to driving while drunk and crashing a car killing one of his passengers and seriously injuring another.
Artur Mieszczak, aged 41 and of Old Town in Swindon, entered the guilty pleas after appearing at Gloucester Crown Court on Tuesday (4 March).
Mieszczak had previously been charged with causing death by due care while over the prescribed limit of alcohol, causing death by driving a vehicle while uninsured and causing death by driving a vehicle while unlicensed.
The charges relate to a collision which took place at Old Birdlip Hill in Witcombe on Thursday 6 July 2023 killing a man and seriously injuring a woman.
Mieszczak was arrested at the scene and later postal charged in connection with the collision.
He has been remanded in custody and is due to be sentenced at Gloucester Crown Court on Wednesday 12 March.
