Officers are appealing for witnesses after a man suffered injuries after being assaulted in Gloucester last week.
Police were called at around 7.50pm on Thursday 20 March with a report that two men with weapons had chased and assaulted another man in the Longhorn Avenue area of the city.
It was reported that the men had approached the victim and a woman as they were stood by their vehicle before chasing him onto Old Spot Walk.
The men then attacked the victim with bats before driving away in a dark coloured vehicle.
The victim, a man in his 20s, sustained injuries to his head and leg which required stitches at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital.
Armed officers searched the area and a 25-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning grievous bodily harm in connection with the incident. He was later released on police bail pending further enquiries.
Investigating officers would now like to hear from anyone who saw what happened or has CCTV/dashcam footage from the night which they feel may be relevant.
