Two men have been arrested on suspicion of arson following a fire in Gloucester this morning (Monday 30 June).
Police were called by Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service shortly before 10am with a report of a fire in the hallway of a block of flats in Bedford Street.
Residents of the flats were evacuated while fire crews extinguished the fire which they believe was started deliberately.
The ambulance service attended and two people were taken to hospital by paramedics as a precaution.
Two men aged in their 50s were detained a short time later and arrested on suspicion of arson. They remain in custody for questioning.
Enquiries have taken place at the scene and a cordon has since been removed.
Anyone who has not yet spoken to police who may have any relevant CCTV, doorbell or dashcam footage from around the time of the incident is asked to get in contact.
