A man has been arrested on suspicion of burglary after officers responded to a report of an alarm that had been activated at a shop in Cheltenham town centre.
Police were alerted to the suspected break-in at a shop on Promenade at around 3.30am today, Wednesday 25 June.
Officers attended and searched the area, and a 45-year-old man from Cheltenham was arrested on suspicion of burglary. He remains in custody for questioning.
A second man fled and despite searches, including with a police dog, he has not yet been located and police have released a CCTV image of him. It is believed he ran in the direction of Wellington Lane and towards Clarence Square.
He was described as being white and of a slim build. He was wearing a grey hooded top with dark trousers, black trainers and had a black snood covering his face. The man was also carrying a white tote bag.
It is understood that three laptops were stolen during the burglary.
Enquiries are ongoing, including forensic examinations at the scene and a review of CCTV, and police are keen to hear from anyone who has information or has CCTV footage of the person who fled.
