Police are appealing for a man to come forward after a woman was bitten by his dog in Gloucester.
The victim reported that a dog was being walked past her when it jumped up and bit her on the leg/hip area causing grazes, bruising and a puncture wound which bled.
The dog was described as being black and a similar size to a large Labrador. Its owner was a white man who was in his early to mid-50s. He had short grey hair and was wearing a black zip up top, black combat style trousers and black lace up boots.
The owner of the dog appeared to be shocked and informed the woman that the dog was in training. He apologised for what had happened but did not pass on any contact details.
The incident happened on Thatcham Avenue in Kingsway at around 6.30pm on Wednesday 9 April.
Officers have conducted enquiries to locate the man and are now asking him to make contact so he can give an account of what happened.
They would also like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and has information which they feel is relevant.
