Officers are appealing for witnesses to a serious assault which took place on Stroud Road in Gloucester in the early hours of this morning (12 June).
Police were called by the ambulance service at around 2am with a report that a man had sustained a serious head injury.
The victim, a man in his 50s, was taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital for treatment and has since been discharged.
A scene guard was put in place while police examined the scene.
Investigating officers are currently conducting enquiries in the area and they would now like to hear from anyone who witnessed what happened or has CCTV, dashcam or doorbell footage which they feel may be relevant.
