Police seize more than 250 cannabis plants from derelict property in Tewkesbury

Police have seized more than 250 cannabis plants which were being grown inside a derelict building in Tewkesbury.

Information gathered by intelligence officers led to the discovery of the plants at an address on Tewkesbury High Street on Wednesday (15 January).

Officers from the Vanguard, Local and Neighbourhood Policing teams were able to enter the building yesterday (Thursday 16 January) to dismantle the grow after it was made safe by electricians.

They found the Class B drug being grown over three floors and a total of 274 plants, worth an estimated £400,000, were seized. The plants have now been destroyed.

Two men, aged 25 and 39, were arrested on suspicion of producing a controlled drug and cultivating cannabis and have been released on bail while investigations continue.
