Police are appealing for witnesses after a man sexually assaulted a woman in Gloucester city centre in the early hours of Sunday morning (19 January).
The victim, a woman aged in her 30s, had been waiting for a taxi on Southgate Street near to Tesco Express when an unknown man approached her at around 2.15am.
He tried talking to her and when she said she was not interested, the victim reported that he got annoyed and he tried to touch her. The man leant up against her, and put his hand up her dress without her consent.
She was able to move away and tried to ring a friend for support, and the man then walked off. The woman is shaken by the ordeal.
The man was described as being white and had a non-English accent. He was in his late 40s/early 50s, bald and wearing a dark coloured jacket which was possibly black, burgundy or navy.
CCTV is in the process of being reviewed, however police are keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and saw what happened.
