UPDATE: The roads reopened shortly after midnight and the pedestrian remains in hospital at this time.
Road closures have been put into place in Cheltenham town centre following a serious collision this evening (Friday 5 December).
Police were called at around 5.10pm with a report of a collision involving a pedestrian and car on Cheltenham High Street.
Road closures have been put into place on High Street, Rodney Road with the junction for Imperial Square and Albion Street.
The pedestrian, a woman in her 70s, has been taken to Southmead Hospital for treatment to serious injuries.
Motorists and pedestrians are asked to avoid the area while emergency services remain at the scene.
