Two men have been arrested following an incident in Gloucester last night (Thursday 19 September).
Police were called to a report of an argument between a man and a woman on Fountain Square, Gloucester at around 9.35pm.
On arrival, the man threatened officers with a weapon before making his way into The Dukeries. He armed himself with a pool cue and a knife and made further threats of violence.
A man in his 50s from Gloucester was subsequently arrested on suspicion of affray and assaulting an emergency worker.
A second man, also in his 50s and from Gloucester, was arrested on suspicion of obstructing police. Both remain in custody while investigations continue.
Officers have checked the welfare of the woman who is not believed to have been injured.
